Student candidates will take part in livestreamed debate

The leaders of the six parties will meet on 21 May for a debate starting at 4:00 pm. They are running for twelve seats on the University Council.
The University Council has a say on issues that directly affect students, such as education, student wellbeing and sustainability. During the debate, the parties will discuss their ideas for the university and their priorities for the new academic year.

Last year, only 23.6 per cent of UU students and 26 per cent of UU staff voted in the University Council elections. However, the turnout used to be even lower. Interest in voting has increased slightly over the past few years.
