UU Council and Faculty Council elections

This year, 20.7 percent of UU students cast a vote for the University Council. They could choose among six parties across the political spectrum. Students also chose their representatives on the various faculty councils. On average, voter turnout for the faculty council elections was around 18 percent.
Most voted were cast in the final half-hour, between 10:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Prior to 2022, turnout for University Council elections hovered around 20 percent, peaking in 2018 when 26.8 percent of the student body voted.
2022 was a poor year for university democracy, as only 11 percent of students voted. After that, the turnout increased gradually. Last year, 23.6 percent of students voted. This year, there has been another decline of a few percentage points.
