The Executive Board of Utrecht University states on the university's website that all "critical" systems are operational again, but occasional glitches may still happen.

In the statement, the Executive Board also acknowledges the significant impact of the fire and that many students and staff are wondering whether the university was adequately prepared for such an incident.

Another power cut in Almere rendered some of the university's servers inaccessible on Monday evening, which has not helped people's confidence in the systems' stability, either, as UU Vice-President Margot van der Starre recognises.

“After the Whitsun weekend, we will begin an evaluation and examine what lessons can be learned from this situation,” she says in the statement. “We believe it is sensible to wait until then before providing answers to the questions being asked. This also does justice to all our colleagues who have worked so hard over the past week, and who are still working hard now.”
