Christel Lutz appointed interim dean of UCU

Christel Lutz is being appointed as an interim dean for UCU because the current Dean, Susan te Pas, will be leaving on 1 July to become Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Amsterdam.

It makes sense to choose Lutz for the role. She has been associated with UCU since 2003, when she joined the college as a lecturer in Cognitive Psychology. Since 2020, she has been working as the Director of Education and a member of the Management Team. Lutz also works as a principal fellow at the Centre for Academic Teaching, where she specialises in teacher development and excellence in education. On this basis, she has been appointed Professor of Teacher Development in Higher Education in 2024. This makes Lutz the first professor to be appointed at UCU.

Lutz will act as the UCU dean until a new dean is appointed. The recruitment procedure is still ongoing.
