Approximately 30 protesters gathered in front of the Humanities and Law, Economics & Governance buildings in the afternoon. UU says it is in talks with the group and that these talks are going well. The university does not wish to comment on whether it is considering taking immediate action.

This is the sixth time pro-Palestine protestors have occupied a UU building in an attempt to persuade the university to sever all its ties with Israel. The building at Janskerkhof 15a was occupied before, in May 2024. The other protests targeted buildings on Drift and the library courtyard.

When the occupation began, lectures were being held in four classrooms. At least one lecturer finished the class while the protest was going on. The classes scheduled for later that day were transferred to other locations.
