Susan te Pas has been the dean of University College Utrecht (UCU) since 2021. UCU offers an English-taught Bachelor's programme in Liberal Arts & Sciences. ‘I am looking forward to joining the Faculty of Science at the University of Amsterdam,’ said Te Pas in a message on the UU Intranet.

'It is a wonderful faculty. At the same time, I will also miss Utrecht University very much. I am very proud of what we have achieved here in terms of open science and recognition and rewards. The team spirit I have experienced at UCU is a great example of that.'

Utrecht University describes her as a 'vocal defender of academic freedom, diversity and internationalisation.' UU's new rector, Wilco Hazeleger, says on the Intranet message that 'there is great appreciation among students and staff for her open attitude and the way she listens to people. That trait has been essential to all that she has accomplished at UCU.'

Te Pas is a professor of Cognitive Psychology of Higher Education. In 2011, she became the first Teaching Fellow of the Faculty of Social Sciences. She has been a member of the Education Council since 2019. Te Pas has also been vice-dean of education at the Faculty of Social Sciences and interim director of the strategic theme Dynamics of Youth.
