The action group WOinActie is calling on students to join the protest against the government's plans to cut two billion euros from the education budget, one billion of which will be taken from higher education.

Since the massive demonstration in The Hague on November 25, opposition parties have tried to get the austerity measures off the table. Four parties (CDA, JA21, SGP and ChristenUnie) are now threatening to agree to what WOinActie deems as an "unholy compromise". The House of Representatives must vote on the education budget next Thursday.

Those who participate in the walk-out are asked to bring a whistle. Student union Vidius supports the protest.
