Win tickets to Ensemble Hemiolia concert in TivoliVredenburg

Prijsvraag Ensemble Hemiolia

The 2025 Early Music Festival kicks off with a spectacular opening concert: Ensemble Hemiolia. Featuring large-scale Baroque music that was once heard in 17th-century Rome. Trumpet fanfares, drum rolls and joyful salvos – a salute to Louis XIV. With more than 50 musicians on stage, this opening concert follows in the footsteps of the giant orchestra of Baroque god Arcangelo Corelli. The cantata that Alessandro Melani wrote especially for the royal procession will also be performed, in a reconstruction by Emmanuel Resche-Caserta. With concerti grossi and trio sonatas by Corelli, an extraordinary event is resurrected: the kind of festive fanfare that would later inspire Handel to write his own fireworks music.
