Jesse and Daan started FLFL four years ago on a cargo bike (bakfiets) parked at the Vismarkt in Groningen. "After six months, the bike became too small and we found a beautiful monumental building in the middle of the city, completely renovated and furnished to taste", recollects Daan.

They now have three locations in Groningen, one of which is on the grounds of the University of Groningen. Since March, they're also present in Utrecht. "The falafel is made in front of you in a cozy, open kitchen. Everything is homemade and completely vegan", explains the co-founder. The restaurant is open for pickups and takeaway, but the owners cannot wait for customers to be allowed to eat inside.
