Hit:
- There is always something to do for students; parties, but also volunteering, university projects or something for your association
- The terraces on the canal and the hipster atmosphere in the Streetfoodclub at the Janskerkhof
- The central location in the country, you are out of the city quickly and also quickly back home

Miss:
- De Uithof is far away from the city centre
- The overcrowded bus 12
- The busy libraries, there is a lack of study spots

Tan Lambrechtsen (27) Psychology

Hit:
- Cosiness in the city centre
- The group of cyclists between the city centre and De Uithof twice a day
- The university and the city pay so much attention to sustainability

Miss:
- It is extremely difficult to find a room
- The rats in the park at the Lucasbolwerk
- UU only gives students a digital student card and not a physical copy

Elsa Poorthuis (24) History and Law

Hit:
- Everything is close by; I live on the ‘singel’ and my lectures are mainly in the city centre
- Cycling through the city, because of the old buildings history passes you by
- The Botanical Gardens in De Uithof

Miss:
- Bicyclists who do not pay attention or do dangerous things
- The coffee at the university, I prefer to go to café De Ontdekking on the Voorstraat
- Uhm…, I actually don’t know anything else

In September 2019 DUB publishes the magazine StudentEnStad. With this magazine DUB celebrates fifty years of independent university journalism in Utrecht. The theme is the relationship between the Utrecht students, the city of Utrecht and the Utrechters. The magazine was published in Dutch. Here we present a collection of translated stories and features especially written for our site.
