Last Vegas announces departure from Science Park

Utrecht University has welcomed a series of food trucks to Utrecht Science Park these past few years. A recent poll allowed students and employees to choose which food trucks they would like to see on campus from April 2023 onwards. The winners were Broodje Ben, Falafel & Halloumi, Mo & Zonen, and the vegan snack bar Last Vegas, a newbie to the Science Park.

Nine months later, Last Vegas has concluded that the number of profitable days is significantly lower than anticipated. The efforts required to operate on campus also turned out to be more substantial than expected. It is not yet known whether a fourth food truck is going to take Last Vegas' place or if the university is only going to stay with the three remaining food trucks.

Every day, food trucks are supposed to move to a different spot on campus. The idea is to give everyone a variety of lunch options. Last week, DUB revealed that the food truck operators are dissatisfied with this scheme. They would rather have a designated spot but the university is sticking to the original idea.
