Economic Board Utrecht looking to set up a youth branch
Students invited to reflect on the future of Utrecht
The Young Economic Board will be the youth branch of the Economic Board Utrecht (EBU), a network of companies, governments and educational institutions in the region encompassing Utrecht, Amsterdam and Hilversum. The network is committed to “a healthy society with healthy people in a healthy living environment,” EBU writes in a press release. UU President Anton Pijpers, NS Director Wouter Koolmees and Utrecht Mayor Sharon Dijksma are part of the board.
EBU is looking for no more than five students, young professionals or entrepreneurs from the region interested in thinking about "complex economic and social issues". A recent example is how to ease rush hour at Utrecht Central Station. Could different lecture and working hours help achieve that and, if so, how could that be arranged?
EBU works with volunteers, as will its youth branch. But, according to the press release, board members "get the opportunity to be involved in the development of the region and participate in discussions with influential leaders from business, government and educational institutions." EBU adds that it offers young people the opportunity to make a tangible impact and shape the living and working environment in the region.
