The tram line connecting Utrecht Central Station to Utrecht Science Park will run every ten minutes between 9 am and 6 pm on November 9 and November 16, when the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (HU) and Utrecht University (UU) will hold their Open Days.

Currently, the tram only runs during the week, but the province of Utrecht would like it to run all weekends to make the area more accessible. This summer, the province set additional funds aside to make this happen. Trams should start operating on weekends from 2026 onwards.

Students would also like the tram line's timetable to be extended. Student union Vidius has asked the province to make the tram run on weekends and evenings. This would also make Galgenwaard Stadium more accessible. In 2025 and beyond, the province wants football fans to use the tram as the main means of transportation to the stadium when FC Utrecht plays at home. They have already tried this out.

UU's open day for Bachelor's programmes will be held on Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November, 16. HU will have its open day on Saturday, November 9.
