After request from vegan students
UU to get coffee machines with oat milk
In March, Utrecht's Vegan Student Association asked the university if it would be possible to have coffee machines that offer oat milk on campus. Together with Maas, the company that owns the machines, UU has decided to make machines with plant-based milk available on campus by the summer break. These machines will no longer contain cow milk to prevent cross-contamination. By the end of the year, a quarter of UU's coffee machines will only offer oat milk.
Special stickers will be used so that the machines with plant-based milk are easily identifiable. The university said that it will make sure both kinds of machines are well distributed across the campus. There will be no price difference between drinks with cow milk and drinks with oat milk.
