Want to talk about individual responsibility for climate change?

DUB is joining forces with the Open Minds project, part of the Comenius Leadership Fellow, to organise a roundtable discussion in which students, scientists and other contributors will explore different perspectives and what we can learn from each other.

The most important question will probably be how to apply theory in practice. For example, everyone knows by now that flying is bad for the climate, but only a few people have stopped taking planes altogether. How do such choices make you feel? Do you feel as though you have to defend yourself if you eat meat or take a plane on your vacation? Should people who you consider to be climate-unfriendly be called to account?

What do you think should happen at UU and society at large, and what can you do as an individual to contribute to this vision? Should there be laws and regulations? Scientists often talk about a tipping point, when many individuals change their behaviour. But what does that mean?
