Friday, 6 March: Ice skating with ESN at the Vechtsebanen (Mississippidreef 151). We will meet at Parnassos at 7.15 p.m. and go there together by bike. Tickets are 5 euros and available from the ESN office. Skate rental needs to be paid at the rink, 5 euros for ice hockey skates and 7 euros for Norwegian speed skates (which you can only use on the large 400m track). You have to be quick to get a chance to see the very rare Giant Snowdrop (Galanthus gigantissimus ‘Recyclii’), which only grows in the mythical country of Galanthia. The Giant Snowdrop can grow up to about 1.80m tall and when it flowers produces only one single flower.
