On Friday 14 September, as part of University CollegeUtrecht’s Lustrum celebrations, we will raise funds for the new-style UCU Fund at the Scholarship Dinner. The profits from the event will go directly to the UCU fund, providing scholarships for talented students who otherwise could not afford the UCU experience.

At UCU, we are proud of our strong international character; there are more than fifty nationalities among the student population. UCU students bring in diversity with regard to experiences, lifestyles, religions, languages, and social and cultural backgrounds. In order to preserve and foster this diversity, the UCU Fund aims to financially support highly qualified students, who would otherwise not be able to afford an education at UCU. The UCU scholarships are funded from UCU’s own resources, as well as from donations from students, alumni, friends and other stakeholders.

From September 2018 onwards, the UCU Fund will be a Named Fund under the umbrella of the Utrecht University Fund. In addition to the benefits of outsourcing the responsibility for the administration and accountability of expenditure to the Utrecht University Fund, UCU is now able to offer donors the advantage of donating to an organisation that has the ANBI status, meaning the gift is fully or partially deductible from their taxable incomes.
