As part of University College Utrecht’s 20th anniversary celebration, the campus will participate in the annual Open Monument Day.
A self-guided tour with multiple stops at the monuments on the International Campus Utrecht will be available to visitors. Old photos and explanatory plaques will guide visitors through our campus’s rich history, and a number of history lectures (in Dutch) will be open to the public. The lecture program includes talks by UCU’s former Dean Rob van der Vaart: ‘Erfgoed Rond de Waterlinieweg’ and by UCU’s History Fellow Dr. Jos van der Linden: ‘Waarom verloor Duitsland de tweede Wereld Oorlog?’. In cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, we hope to bring military vehicles and soldier reenactments to campus. Visitors will be free to enter both our campus, as well as the adjacent Ministry of Defense.
Date and time: Saturday 8 September 2018, 10:00-17:00
