Is your level of English sufficient and are you thinking about an internship which is educational and enjoyable? Then apply for an internship at the Dutch National Students’ Union (LSVb)! The LSVb is an union which has 12 member unions across the Netherlands. Local unions are located in different students’ cities. The goal of the LSVb is to look after the interests of all Dutch students and the international students who study in the Netherlands. On a European level the LSVb is one of the 45 members of the European Students’ Union (ESU). Furthermore the LSVb offers convenient services to students and engages actively in discussions with educational institutions, politics and the cabinet. The LSVb is looking for an intern who assists with these activities.

The position
As an intern international policy you are supporting the international officer. Together you will determine the policy priorities and implement those policies. The content of your policy focuses mainly on internationalization of Dutch higher education, with topics such as: international students in the Netherlands, English as official language within higher education and the opportunities for Dutch students to study abroad. You will constantly keep tabs on developments on the international level, and you will communicate these with the board and with the local member unions. Beside these activities you will be corresponding with ESU and you will be involved within the preparation process of meetings on a European level. This internship will give you an insight and experience in the political field in the Netherlands, as well as the European Union.

What do we expect of you? 
As intern international affairs you are able to communicate clearly and correctly, both verbally and in writing. You show initiative and you are interested in the international student. You have a professional attitude and you have good knowledge of English language.
You are a flexible, responsible and ambitious person,  and aware of the opinions of the LSVb. At the LSVb you will work with five board members, sixteen employees and many volunteers. You will mainly work at the LSVb-office located at the Drieharingstraat, opposite Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht. Working materials which will be available for you: a desk, computer and telephone. You have access to all sources of information within the office. The internship will be for 32/36 hours a week, starting at 2 September 2013. It is also possible to start at 26 August 2013.  

The internship can be for a period of 20 or 40 weeks, depending on your requirements. You will get a compensation of €250,- a month. Are you the intern the LSVb is looking for?
