John Tang

John Tang is an assistant professor in the Department of History and Art History in the Faculty of Humanities. His research focuses on the economic history of Japan starting in the mid-nineteenth century, with topics ranging from technology adoption and transportation infrastructure to public health, financial development, and even samurai. His teaching includes courses on the history of globalization and the Great Divergence between advanced and developing economies.
